Description
Large William and Mary 17th Century Figured Walnut Cushion Mirror c, 1690
An extremely large and rare William and Mary 17th century figured walnut cushion mirror, circa 1670-1690.
The original soft bevelled edge mirror plate is bordered by fine cross-grain ovolo mouldings. The pulvinated frame is decorated entirely in veneers of well-chosen sections of figured walnut bordered by an ovolo cross-grain moulding.
It should be noted that this is an extremely large example with a bold pulvinated frame that can only be described as stately.
