Description
Pair of Star Shaped Wall Mirrors in Faded Velvet Late 19th Century
This is a charming pair of star-shaped velvet wall mirrors with a perfect patina. They are made in the late 19th century, presumably in the United Kingdom.
The mirrors are framed in faded yellow / green velvet, which has developed a desirable patina over time. The velvet, once vibrant, now displays a warm, muted tone that enhances the antique appeal. The fabric covers a wooden base, which has been meticulously shaped into a star pattern - creating a striking silhouette.
Each mirror is set into the center of the star, surrounded by the velvet-covered frame. The glass itself shows signs of age, with subtle spotting and clouding which only adds to the charm. These mirrors make wonderful decorative accents and are great for a hallway, bathroom or bedroom wall.
The overall condition of the mirrors is good, with the expected wear from their age, such as slight fraying at the edges of the velvet and some aging on the mirror surfaces.
