Swedish Grey Paint Decorated, Parcel-Gilt, Large Wall, Console, Pier Mirror, France, 19th c.
French parcel-gilt painted Swedish mirror with carved figures. This is a truly magnificent console or over the mantel mirror. The early 19th century original paint decorated and parcel water gilt frame in a celeste blue color with the finest carved and detailed gilt maidens. Rectangular in form the gilt caryatid flanked frame supporting a beveled mirror. This is certainly a mirror that would draw attention to any area in the home.
