Wonderful English 19th Century ebonised carver chair.

This chair features a shapely back adorned with a prominent carved shell crest. The back is inset with a caned panel.

The curvy open armrests terminate in scrolls with acanthus clasps. The frieze features a further inverted shell motif and the whole rests on cabriole legs with foliate carvings and lion's paw feet.

This is an impressive and individual piece that would make for a great desk chair or just a decorative side chair.
