Description
Set of two Casalino1 stacking children's chairs designed by Alexander Begge for the W German mfg Casala. In the style of Vernor Panton, these chairs are great examples of West German Space Age modern design from the 1970s. Each chair is embossed on the underside with "Modell 2000/0/1 Made in Western Germany" along with the date. The Orange chair was made in Nov 1977 and the white in Nov 1984. The chairs stack nicely and are priced as a pair so your kid can have a friend over and just fight about who gets to sit in which color instead of who gets the COOL chair. My kids certainly loved them.
The chairs are structurally sound with some marks and scratches commensurate with age and use.
Begge designed the Casalino line in a variety of sizes for children as well as adults while working at the Casala factory and has been quoted to say that he did not do any drawings for the chairs. -
