Description
This beautiful pair of lounge chairs were designed in the 1960s by Arne Norell for Norell Moebel. The frames are made of two curves of chrome-plated steel, and the single cushions have been newly reupholstered in channel-stitched, cognac-colored leather. This is a classic and striking combination of materials seen in many other pieces of the era, including the iconic Barcelona chairs and CY Mann lounge chairs. There are two models of this chair: the Ari, which is longer and lower, and the Ariet, which is more of an easy chair. These chairs are Ariet chairs. Equally special, but much more rare. The leather in combination with the chromed steel creates a warm and pleasant contrast. The 'Ari' became award winning in the beginning of the seventies when it was awarded the "Show-piece of the year" by British furniture manufacturers in 1973. Extraordinary quality, extraordinary chairs.
Replacements made: One strap has been replaced, an almost imperceptible replacement. Both cushions are brand new, reupholstered by a long time leatherworker who has worked with us on many projects. Wear consistent with age and use. Frames are clean and bright with minimal to no oxidation. One strap has been replaced, an almost imperceptible replacement.
