Charles and Ray Eames 1st Generation RKR Rocker for Herman Miller
-
Description
Charles and Ray Eames designed their fiberglass and wire chairs to be fitted with a wide variety of bases to offer a range of heights, uses, and aesthetics. One of the most desirable today is the rocker.
This rare early example of the RKR dates from the first few months of production as evidenced by the base which has supporting struts that extend from the front legs all the way to the back, crossing under the seat. It has half off the "bikini" seat pad.
*note two broken welds at the curve of the seat. The break is only on one part of the wire, structurally still solid.
