With its emphasis on beautiful materials and simplified forms, the Eames three seaters sofa exemplifies the best in modern furniture design. Its angled profile and clean planes showcase a harmonious combination of walnut and polished aluminum. Seat cushions rest on a fabric-reinforced rubber webbing to create a resilient suspension for comfortable body support. Ample seat and back cushions are 2-inch-thick foam, and cushion bottoms are covered in ventilating nylon fabric.

Seat, back, and arm cushion upholstery is top-quality leather with a supple feel. Legs and arm supports are brightly polished, die-cast aluminum, which along with the design’s aluminum braces, provide durable strength.

The Eames sofa is the last piece of furniture produced by the Eames Office, which completed the design after Charles Eames died in 1978. It went into production in 1984 and has been manufactured by Herman Miller ever since.

Charles and Ray Eames designed the sofa to complement their plush soft pad chairs and the sleek chaises. It stands as a graceful reminder of the honest genius of Charles and Ray Eames.
