George Nelson & Associate was one the driving force for the revolutionary of Office space furniture in the 50s and 60s. Between 1955 and 1964, the group came up with some of the most iconic design of the Mid-Century Modern era such as the CSS shelving system, Marshmallow sofa, Kangaroo Chair, Coconut Chair and ottoman as well as the Modular sitting group.
In 1958, He introduced Low-Back Executive Tilt-Swivel Chair and High-Back Executive Tilt-Swivel Chair. These design took on the lines and forms of the Modular sitting group, but on a polished aluminum swivel base, which pair exceptionally well with the CSS shelving system and the Executive Office Furniture line.
This rare Low-Back Executive Tilt-Swivel Chair was found in an architecturally significant home in the bay area. Foam has been replaced and the original Naugahyde was replaced with a forest green Naugahyde that is extremely durable while look and feel like real leather. Frame was lightly clean and polished.
