Description
The design of these lounge chairs is very distinct and seduces us to look beyond that at first glance. The story goes that these chairs were made to order by Gerard van de Groenekan. When we look in detail at the way the composition of the frame came about, we can conclude that there is craftsmanship and artistry on the part of both the designer and the maker. The beech wood with its refined drawing has been carefully selected and tailored to the various components of the frame. For example, the back styles show an alternation of flame and stripe wood drawings. In addition, this wood has acquired a very warm patina and has withstood the test of time by only becoming more beautiful.
The extremely long armrests taper very slightly towards the back and run parallel to the back legs. Both also protrude just a tiny bit and are connected by the almost vertically upright wooden parts. The front legs are also very subtly tapered as well. If we let the design come to us, we can conclude that they radiate a timeless classic combined with a modernist flair. A special combination that you don't often come across. The completely original corduroy upholstered seats also add to that warm look and feel of the wood. Its seating comfort is phenomenal and the backrest can also be placed in an upright position. These chairs are in good condition, consistent with age and use. As you can see in the pictures the wooden frame has some scratches and marks. If desired we can also reupholster these chairs for you. -
