    Pair of stools made by Gio Ponti in the 1950s. The remarkable walnut base supports a foam seat covered with a textured green fabric. In each of his creations, Ponti makes aesthetics and function coincide and delivers pieces with timeless lines.

    Gio Ponti (1891-1979): At the same time architect, designer and painter, Gio Ponti signs a considerable number of works of art, pieces of furniture, and more than a hundred constructions in the world. In 1928, he founded the magazine Domus and took part in numerous exhibitions such as the Milan Triennale. A major figure in the revival of post-war Italian design, Ponti trained several generations of designers and contributed to the creation in 1954 of one of the most important awards: the “Compasso d’Oro” prize.
