Description
Available today, this Brazilian Modern sofa in hardwood, grey leather, and white fabric by Cimo, 1960s is simply fantastic!
This spectacular Sofa fits four very comfortably and features a Brazilian Rosewood (as known as Jacaranda) base with five legs. The structure is upholstered in Italian Grey Leather with Rosewood finishes in the arms. The loose cushions and the back have an off-white fabric contrasting nicely in with the leather and the hardwood.
This sofa has a classic, timeless design that can easily be adapted to any mid-century modern, modern or contemporary space. The soft curves and shapely lines of the piece make it a great addition to both minimalist and maximalist design choices. With its combination of traditional Brazilian wood, its sturdy structure makes it a highly durable piece of furniture that will last for many years to come. For those looking for a unique and special piece of furniture, this sofa is an ideal choice.
The sofa has been re-upholstered, and the wood refinished. Besides the marks of time, which ultimately give character, the piece is in excellent condition. The last image showcases the sofa during the renovation. We do this to showcase an old piece from the inside.
This piece is showcased in our gallery next to a Jean Gillon set of Brazilian Rosewood coffee and side tables (images) highlighting the jacaranda in a gorgeous way.
Móveis Cimo was created by Jorge Zipperer and Willy Jung in 1913 in Santa Catarina, Brazil. It started out as a wood boxes factory called A.Ehrl e Cia. but eventually evolved into a furniture factory. During the 1930s to the 1970s, Cimo was the largest furniture factory in Latin America. Cimo was committed to industrialization and worked towards standardizing their products, while also trying to make them more affordable for the popular strata through the use of advanced technologies and materials. This factory produced great quality furniture, making it a pioneer in several sectors and an essential chapter in the history of Brazilian furniture making
