Depth: 20.5" // With freeform shape and incredible texture, this low courtyard bench from Shandong province embodies the spirit of wabi-sabi, the Japanese philosophy that beauty and integrity can be found within the imperfections of a timeworn object. The curved seat is comprised of solid beechwood, shaped by hand from a salvaged log and elevated by simple chiseled legs. Textured with blade marks and knots to the wood grain, the primitive bench exemplifies the enduring appeal of organic forms and natural materials.
