Designer: Ilmari Tapiovaara (1914-1999) is a Finnish designer who contributes to the development of 20th century Scandinavian design. He collaborates with Alvar Aalto and Le Corbusier. The major axes in his designs are on the multi-purpose chair, such as the "Domus" model which was to serve both for a desk and around a table. Now a classic, the "Mademoiselle" armchair in natural or lacquered birch is still produced by Artek.

Artek: Finnish manufacturer who uses environmentally friendly materials, combining manufacturing techniques with skilled craftsmanship. Specializing in bending birch, plywood and lacquered finish, its pieces are handcrafted by experienced cabinetmakers.
