Description
An important hand-crafted fireside cottage armchair. Shaped hewn top rail over turned spindles through a braced and continuous curved arm with hand holds. Solid low D-shaped seat on chamfered legs joined by crossed and turned X-stretcher bound by old twine tie. Old painted surface. Letters carved into side. Probably 18th century, Irish.
