John Hutton, Donghia, Mid-Century Modern, Oversized Club Chairs, Woven Cane, Mahogany, Jean-Michel Frank Style
Pair of limited edition 'Block Island' lounge chairs designed by John Hutton (1947-2006) for Donghia, circa 1995. This seating series is Hutton's graphic and highly textural interpretation of the work of Jean-Michel Frank. Each example features exceptionally well done woven cane uppers sitting on four low profile modernist Mahogany legs and newly reupholstered removable seat and back cushions. Examples from the 'Block Island' collection are very rare. Each piece has 'DONGHIA' carved on a piece of wood on the underside.
