Description
This Daybed with sleek lines and geometric shapes was designed in France by Jules Leleu. It is made out of Rosewood and upholstered in a Taupe color silk velvet.
Daybeds are a type of furniture that were very popular in the Art Deco period, which lasted from 1920s-1940s. These daybeds were often made from luxurious materials like exotic woods and fabrics. They were designed to be both functional and stylish, and remain highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts today.
Jules Leleu was a French furniture designer who opened a gallery in Paris called Maison Leleu. He won the grand prize at the Exposition Industrielle et Arts Decoratifs in 1924 and 1925. He designed various important buildings/salons in France and other countries, as well as ocean liners like Île de France and Normandie. -
