Description
Large baroque Swedish armchair well-carved in generous proportions, dating from about 1710-1730. Features a curved splat back, cabriole legs, Braganza feet and hand-carved stretchers (not turned); seat covered in later black leather. Uneven lines and surface marks reveal this chair as a hand-chiseled example of the highest order from the early 18th century. The work as a master joiner.
