Description
Mid-century modern design is characterised by clean lines and simple colours. The style promotes a sleek look and eliminates overly decorative embellishments. Italian designers of the 1950s experimented with new materials and construction methods, resulting in lovely creations like this pair of armchairs.
This timeless pair immediately catches the eye with their bold outline - a perfect reflection of the mid-20th century’s fascination with simple, harmonious proportions coupled with comfort. Without additional ornamentation, the focus is on the full, upholstered bodies in a luxurious green fabric. The tightly upholstered seats and backs live up to the Italian history rooted in luxury, while simultaneously enhancing the cosiness of the design. The combination of solid wood and high-quality upholstery is traditional in mid-century design for good reason; the two materials complement each other by highlighting their unique qualities. It is also evident that the designer of these chairs has followed the guiding mid-century modern principles of function, durability, timelessness, and comfort. This traditional yet playful pair combines all of these characteristics, which makes them ideal as the focal point of any space. The chairs are supported by solid wood bun feet, which add another layer to the design’s overall visual interest.
This pair of armchairs combines Italian elegance and modern aesthetics, resulting in a timeless look which is full of modern energy that will endure for generations. This is also thanks to their exceptional visual quality and uncompromising level of craftsmanship.
