Elegant and rare pair of Italian Mid-Century Modern neoclassical benches / stools in solid brass with upholstered seats by Maison Jansen The structure is composed of solid brass featuring 4 legs splayed on an angle and tapered delicately; they are supported by 4 angled, round solid brass rods. The sabot / feet are appropriately curved and facing outward. A pointed solid brass rod is faceted to each leg as a sober, modern, neoclassical decoration. The pieces are of exceptional quality in design, materials and manufacture. The overall statement is dignified and refined, projecting sobriety and taste. References: Maison Bagues, Gio Ponti.
