Wonderful Set of Six early Biedermeier, late Empire Dining Room Chairs from Southern Germany around 1820.
Made of cherry solid wood and elaborately hand-polished with shellac (French Polish).
Very special are the golden ornament faces, which are carved-out of side of the backrests. On the front, these have profiles of faces that have been plated with gold. From the back, you only see the profile curved out of the cherry solid wood plate.
At the bottom of the crossbar, there is a gold-plated curved decor, which has also been carved out of the wood, too.
The upholstery is done newly after old methods. For the fabric a plain, precious black felt with double keder has been chosen.
