Bonacina Pair of Armchairs
-
Description
Pair of Rattan Armchairs designed by Tito Agnoli for the Pierantonio Bonacina Company. The company made rattan furniture starting in the late nineteenth century. They imported the materials but designed and built their furniture in Erba Italy, which is in the center of the Italian furniture making area around Como. Designers of Bonacina furniture often trained at the prestigious Politechnico di Milano. Because the design was a success, there were knock-offs made by other companies. These chairs are the originals from Bonacina. The last image shows a page from the Sept 1963 Domus Magazine. The chair is on the upper right corner with its description.

Message from Seller:
Established in 1999, by antiques dealer Gail Garlick, the gallery focuses on historical works of the 20th Century. Primarily Good Design shows furniture, lighting and decorative arts from Italy, the US and Scandinavia. Meticulous about authenticity, we maintain a substantial research library. Our preference for refined works in original patina have won us an international following of designers, collectors and gallerists.
