Wabi Sabi Rustic Tripod Bench, France, 19th Century

Description
This 19th-century tripod bench from France reflects a deeply rooted rural craftsmanship, where necessity shaped both structure and form. Carved from a substantial solid plank and raised on three irregularly splayed legs, it demonstrates a direct and intuitive approach to woodworking. The surface retains a rich patina, marked by tool traces, age cracks, and natural wear, all of which contribute to its quiet, sculptural presence. Its asymmetry and restrained material expression resonate strongly with the principles of wabi-sabi, where beauty emerges through imperfection and the passage of time. All our rustic furniture has undergone a two-cycle preventive woodworm treatment to ensure long-term preservation and stability.
