19th Century French Commode or Night Table

Description
Small scale French commode There are two drawers to this unique little commode, each having decorative brass ring handles with matching escutcheons. Raised on sturdy tapering legs to the back with shapely cabriole legs to the front all united by a deep scalloped apron with a decorative circular medallion carved into the centre front. Good solid back boards and panelled sides. The thick quality timbers have seasoned to the most gorgeous colour over the past century developing a richly patinated surface. Superb original condition. Circa 1880.
