Description
A delicate Regency Chinoiserie lacquer cabinet, of rectangular form with two doors opening to reveal four small drawers, decorated throughout in gilt, black and cinnabar lacquer, the top, doors and sides with figures in landscapes including a picnic scene, houses on stilts in a lake and a man spinning, the drawers with birds and floral garlands centred on the gadrooned ormolu knobs, all raised on a stand with a frieze showing further landscapes, all on slender turned and splayed ebonized legs joined by a crossed stretchers. English, circa 1815.
