Elegant large 19th century campaign chest in solid camphor wood stamped Army and Navy CSL
Army & Navy Co-operative Society Ltd. was formed on September 15, 1871, by a group of army and navy officers. The goal of the military cooperative was to provide goods to its members at the lowest pay rates. The company rented part of the premises of a distillery in Victoria Street, London.
Very good quality camphor wood with a very beautiful flame where all sides are made of a single plank of camphor wood
English navy chest with its brass reinforcement typical of this style of furniture and its carrying handles on the side
Chest very good quality with the brass elements screwed which is unusual and a sign of good quality
Superb patina and in perfect condition
