Superb and rare Italian Renaissance walnut wedding chest or cassone from the late 16th century from the Tuscany region.
Very beautiful chest with a wood marquetry coat of arms in its center, which is unusual, representing a castle.
This beautiful quality chest rests on lion claws. Its two uprights are decorated with carved heads.
Very beautiful molding work on the front, sides and on its top with fine lemon tree inlays.
Very beautiful molded top and topped with a raised and molded top.
Superb patina and in magnificent condition. -
