Monumental Renaissance Revival Sideboard, Heavily Carved, Mahogany, Branded
A simply stunning ornately carved cabinet telling a story of mermaids, warriors and mythological figures. A monumental renaissance revival sideboard like none other. Branded on the interior drawer, D.C.C.P.C.N. BUCURESTI 1 (Department of Culture, Cults and National Cultural Heritage, Bucharest.) late 19th and early 20th century. The whole having four upper scroll carved drawers flanked by lion heads over four heavily carved lower doors depicting warriors and mythological figures slaying mermaids. The doors leading to a shelved interior. This is a large and impressive piece carved within every inch of its frame. The case resting on claw feet.
