Set Of Ronchetti & Porro Nightstands In Glass And Beech Veneer, Italy 1970's
-
Description
Set of Ronchetti & Porro nightstands in glass and stained beech veneer. These eye-catching nightstands are made by the Italian label Ronchetti & Porro. The shapes are intensely contrasting and combined in an almost naive but attractive manner.Basically, the design consists of two self-contained parts, namely the round tapering foot that looks somewhat like a pawn which widens at the top, and the storage part with a gentle curve at the front. The base is made of wood and is coated in aluminum that is then finished with a gold-colored lacquer. A striking detail is the subtle ring at approximately three-quarter height. The storage part protrudes noticeably at every connection and results in a more spatial experience of the shape. In the middle of the cabinet we see a round brass plate that suggests that the top of the leg comes through the cabinet. This little plate shows a beautiful patina. A glass top is clamped into the recesses of the cabinet and is finished with a gentle curve at the front as well. Both items have the original label on the back. There are small cracks in the coating of the feet, which also show spots and discolorations. But overall the cabinets show minimal signs of use regarding their age and use. "
