Description
Very rare find, original vintage condition with some scratches and chipped paint as shown in photos. This dry bar trolley appears to be an early production version of the 1970s Lasko Studioform International bar cart that was based on Verner Panton's well known Bar Boy. Lasko was a German manufacturer of Spaceage Modern furniture. The nickel plated handle pulls out to allow the two tiers to rotate and reveal the storage inside. Bottles on the bottom, glasses on the middle tier and a flat serving surface on top.
The later production models of this bar cart had thermoformed molded plastic inserts for glasses on the middle tier and bottles on the lower tier. This early version was made with cut plastic tubing that was glued together and fit in place with a removable wooden cylinder to friction fit it all in place. Very functional design, this piece works perfectly with no structural flaws in the mechanism nor the casters. The white top also shows signs of age with some light crazing throughout. The photo of the manufacturer's label is from another matching bar cart by Lasko and not attached to this cart though as can be seen in the photos, this is the same underside structure for authentication purposes. -
