Description
Lathed and polished mahogany, this elegant wooden post hails from early 20th Century France. A vide-poche or other repository, the pedestal base supports an integrated wooden bowl – certainly purpose built– once used as a vessel for a convenient cache. This elevated bowl provides an elegant solution to an everyday problem in a satisfying aesthetic package. The richly patinated hardwood has aged to a comfortable equilibrium, subtle signs of wear imparting a sense of authenticity.
