    Exceptional, rare 19th century nutwood/ walnut writing desk from the famous Biedermeier period in Austria. Elaborately handcrafted around 1835, this elegant Biedermeier so-called "ladies desk" comes with a lovely arranged nutwood/ walnut veneer that covers the surface of this extrordinary shaped desk. The top plate builds the highlight and impresses with artfully inlayed maple frames which follow the desk´s shape and at the same time divide the darker walnut fields from the outside to the lighter nutwood field in the center. Delicate inlayed floral pattern made of maple additionally adorn the inner corners and confer this one of a kind Biedermeier writing desk a classy charm. A real unique and valuable Biedermeier writing desk which provides a large lockable drawer in the middle. Standing on two artfully curved feet, this amazing looking, early 19th century nutwood desk is definitely a masterpiece of small Biedermeier furniture. The lovely brass key blade and a traditional hand-polished shellac finish completes the incredible appearance. Due its design it can be used as freestanding writing desk but would also for example look fantastic as a console table in a wardrobe. Absolutely great for the use in in smaller spaces due it´s perfect size.
