Description
Outstanding Art Nouveau Bentwood Side Table from the renowed company of MUNDUS Vienna in Austria. Designed around 1902 by the world renowed Austrian architect, designer and founder of the "Wiener Werkstaette" - Josef Hoffmann, this oval beechwood side table (was also produced by Thonet) comes with an impressive timeless shape and fits perfect to modern as well as traditional interior designs. The slightly oval shape in combination with the crossed leg base just looks amazing. The beech wood has been trimmed to a lovely nutwood look. An additional smaller compartment floats between the four slim columns right under the top. This early 20th century Mundus side table by Josef Hoffmann comes in great restored condition with a hand polished shellac finish and shows the famous paper mark "MUNDUS" on the bottom.
