1950s Aldo Tura lacquered goatskin 59" table & chairs
-
Description
Working almost exclusively in his luscious signature goatskin parchment Aldo Tura (1909-1963) created highly decorative pieces with surfaces resembling a high gloss tortoiseshell. He was dedicated to traditional handcrafted production from his Lombardy studio. This dining table is covered entirely in goatskin including the single radiating/faceted columnar base and 59" circular top. He loved bar carts and bar cabinets and designed them in abundance..... which explains the central removable disk that reveals a large plastic removable ice bucket. We have eight original dining chairs with simple scoop seating in velvet that is fully tufted to the front. Both side panels are in shaped goatskin - over angled and tapered walnut legs. Exceptional. Sold as a set, table plus eight chairs (in need of new upholstery).
Chair dimensions :
35.7" height, 19.5" width, 21.5" depth, 19.1" seat height. -
