Description
ITALIAN DESIGNER AND ARCHITECT ANGELO MANGIAROTTI BLACK MARQUINA MARBLE EROS TRIANGULAR COFFEE TABLE
Angelo Mangiarotti Eros triangular black Marquina marble coffee table from the Eros series, vintage and not the re edition. This amazing architectural design by the master of design Mangiarotti has the three conical legs supporting the triangular top by a designed system of gravity locking.
Part of the Eros series for Skipper, Italy, 1970s.
Given Mangiarotti's research on furniture without joints, this table was an example of the result of a gravity interlocking design in which the top because of its weight stably fits into the two legs.
The word 'Eros' refers to the male-female coupling of this interlocking solution.

Message from Seller:
Pavilion is the collective vision of Deborah Colman and Neil Kraus, both graduates of the master of fine arts program at the Art Institute of Chicago. From a longstanding interest in art and design, frequent buying trips to France and Italy have influenced the direction of the gallery to offer items that are not easily sourced in Chicago and United States. Postwar design has been the focus for 18 yrs and we also look forward to new design that crosses boundaries and dialogues as well to the past
