Architectural Table or Desk in Walnut and Glass, Italy 1970s
-
Description
A beautiful Italian (console) table that can also serve as a desk due to its size. The two large hexagonal legs consist of walnut slats that are tightly attached to each other. From the center of the leg there is a see-through. Just below the glass top with facet edges, the legs are reinforced with two aluminum cylinders. The walnut wood with its different color shades is enhanced in this table because the slats are placed in random order. Blonde notes are abruptly alternated by dark tones and here and there a knot is visible as a kind of natural decoration. It is an elegant spectacle that oozes warmth and class. Its frame is supported in the middle by a cross beam that consists of four parts and is sunk into the legs with a dowel connection. This is an item with user-friendly proportions and a pleasant appearance and easily adapts to the room or setting. Its condition is entirely in accordance with the age and use. On the legs we see some minor superficial scratches here and there and a slight discoloration at the base of the leg. All contributing to a splendid vintage look.
