Description
This 'Samo' table is part of the 'Ultrarazionale' collection by Simon.
The base of the table shows the architectural influence visible that Scarpa is inspired by. Classical motifs are always present in this series of tables. The tabletop has very clean and straight travertine graining with the desirable hints of black.
Carlo Scarpa, (1906-2006) is generally acknowledged as the most important Italian Architect of the 1950s-1960s. He had a profound understanding of materials, landscape, and the history of Venetian culture.
The oval tabletop is in perfect condition with no scratches, cracks or restorations.
It sets on the base and anchored by one pin for a secure position.
The base is in great condition as well with no chips.

Pavilion is the collective vision of Deborah Colman and Neil Kraus, both graduates of the master of fine arts program at the Art Institute of Chicago. From a longstanding interest in art and design, frequent buying trips to France and Italy have influenced the direction of the gallery to offer items that are not easily sourced in Chicago and United States. Postwar design has been the focus for 18 yrs and we also look forward to new design that crosses boundaries and dialogues as well to the past
