$ 12,000
  • Description
    Coffee table made of a black lacquered iron frame and a rectangular tabletop of ceramic tiles. These tiles feature a geometric pattern in black, white, and red. The tabletop is signed "R. Capron.”

    Roger Capron, born in Vincennes, France, on September 4, 1922, studied Applied Arts in Paris and worked as an art teacher before moving to Vallauris in 1946. There, he founded 'l'Atelier Callis,' revitalizing local ceramics. In 1952, he purchased an abandoned pottery and opened a ceramics factory with 15 workers, gaining international acclaim by 1957. By 1980, his factory employed 120 people, and he began creating unique pieces exhibited globally. Due to an economic crisis, the factory closed in 1982. Capron passed away on November 8, 2006, leaving a globally recognized legacy.
