The “Ala” collection is a revel of splendor, yielding to the bold. Errin Kancal, together with her talented stone master, ran towards her vision: to retain the statement and strength of metamorphic rock while having it melt into an embraceable shape. The fullness of the “Ala” collection design is recognizable in its detail. Each marble block is carefully curated.
The “Ala” Solo Table, with its striking pedestal base and curved dining surface, joins Kancal’s line of tables – continuing her longing to bring beauty, simply, to a place we most often gather. In a market that is saturated with technology and design, the crafting of pieces such as this gives a home to the purpose of integrity.
Errin, an innovative and visionary cultural designer, acquired her BA from School of the Art Institute of Chicago and MA from Central Saint Martins. Errin’s work explores the boundaries between art&design and reimagines cultural gestures and metaphors as it translates to form. Her acute observation renders distinct installations, collectible furnishings, and unique objects. Errin’s interpretation of nuances and worldly desires take on shapes that are filled with passion and practicality. Her focus in collectible design stems from her desire to share her belief in the magical fusion of art within functional design. The inclusion of artistry in her work is an integral part of every project she embarks on.
