Frattini graduated in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1953.
He opened his professional studio in Milan, after working in the studio of his teacher and mentor Gio Ponti. His collaboration with Cesare Cassina for his eponymous company began in 1954, followed by collaborations with many other industrialists, such as Bernini, Arteluce, Acerbis, Fantoni, Artemide, Luci, Knoll, Lema and others.
He was a board member of the Milan Triennale. A great connoisseur of handcrafted wood, he forged a long and fruitful professional partnership with the master craftsman Pierluigi Ghianda.
Low table model 740 by Gianfranco Frattini for Cassina in wood and laminate with reversible top of the 1960s. The top is on one side in black laminate and on the other in wood. It is very easy to change the color of the coffee table, infact four holes can perfectly fit with the structure. This table received nomination for the important Design Prize "Compasso d'oro".
Good condition, original in all its parts.
