produced by Giordano Chiesa for the Hotel Royal , 1955
Black lacquered Italian ash, brass, two drawers
brass feet

Architect Cristina Longo laquared in black in 2005's the original Gio Ponti vanity toilette for a private commision in Rome in limited edition of 10.

Provenance: Hotel Royal Naples, Private collection, Rome
Lorenzo Ciompi, owner of the Compendio Gallery, purchased all the furniture from Hotel Royal Continental in Naples at late 1990' included the vanities.Most of the vanity desk sold in the market and in the international auction comes from this collection.
One identical vanity was sold in Paris on Italian Selected Design in Piasa Auction 30/10/2009 at € 19.500.
Lorenzo Ciompi donated a vanity to the Triennale Design Museum in Milano and to Design Museum in London

Lorenzo Ciompi is a private collector with a wide experience in Italian design achieved starting from the beginning of the 90's. His collection includes famous items designed by Gio Ponti as well as other well-known Italian designers such as Ico Pairisi, Osvaldo Borsani, Carlo De Carli , Carlo Mollino, Melchiorre Bega, Joe Colombo. A lot of furniture items projected by these designers were published on important magazines such as AD, The World Interiors, Elle, Domus.
