Description
The much celebrated and multi-talented artist/architect Gio Ponti remains one of the most cherished Italian designers. This low table is constructed using walnut rootwood and other hardwoods with an Asian flair. An unusual floating top is supported by a side legs that open at the base like a curtain. A series of three black-stained pieces of wood trim present the Art Deco period style of its day.. Probably produced in the late 1920s by the Italian firm Domus Nova for the high-end Italian department store La Rinascente. Italy.
