Description
A highly functional late 19th-century iron and brass stand, acquired in Belgium and likely of French origin. This elegant utility piece features a substantial marble top with a three-sided backsplash and a raised upper shelf, providing both protection and display space.
The base is constructed of sturdy iron accented with decorative brass embellishments and fitted with two brass side towel bars, combining durability with refined detail. The legs end in casters. The contrast of cool marble, warm brass, and dark iron creates a handsome industrial-meets-provincial aesthetic.
Ideal For:
• Kitchen stand for a mixer or prep station
• Coffee or beverage bar cart
• Bathroom washstand or towel station
• Retail or café display
A scarce and versatile antique form that blends practicality with 19th-century European charm. -
