Description
This sculptural coffee table is a one-of-a-kind work of functional art, carved by hand from a single hardwood log and charred using the traditional shou sugi ban technique. Its organic silhouette evokes branching roots and geological formations, blending structure and spontaneity in a form that feels unearthed rather than built.
The top retains the tree’s original radial grain and deep growth cracks, preserved in a dense blackened surface. A subtle translucent blue resin inlay fills a natural void, creating a quiet point of contrast that reflects both fracture and refinement. Each leg branches into the next, echoing the unpredictable logic of nature.
Made entirely by hand using chainsaws, carving tools, and open flame, this piece reflects a process rooted in raw material and intuition. The carbonized surface not only enhances the visual texture but also reinforces the wood, offering natural protection against wear and moisture.
Perfect as a coffee table in sculptural interiors, modern rustic homes, wabi-sabi settings, or architectural spaces that embrace imperfection and elemental beauty. Though compact, it commands attention as a usable centerpiece and a collectible object.
Sealed with natural oils and waxes to preserve the depth and integrity of the charred finish. Designed and made in Europe by Logniture, a studio dedicated to transforming raw timber into expressive, heirloom-grade furniture.

Message from Seller:
We do not cut down, we do not destroy, but seek out downed tree limbs toppled by fierce wind storms or driftwood from the local creek. But, in that moment of discovery all it takes is a tiny spark in the artist's eye and in his vision the piece becomes what it was always meant to be. P: +38.595.396.1045 E: logniture@gmail.com
