Description
This coffee table by French house Maison Baguès was created in the early 1950s with solid bamboo shaped brass structure and a beautiful black Chinese lacquered top picturing a natural scene with a river, flowers, leaves and a bird flying. The lacquered top in black and rich shades of brown is warm and beautiful, while the brass bamboo feet details provide an imaginative base for the piece. This table is typical of the Chinese inspired work of Maison Baguès in the 1940s and 1950s, and offers a timeless, sophisticated look, with plenty of amazing details. The brass structure has been fully cleaned and polished, and has a beautiful patina, while the Chinese lacquer has been fully restored. The table is now found in a beautiful vintage condition.
