Chinoiserie Coffee Table by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne
-
Description
This coffee table was designed and created by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne as part of their Chan series of chinoiserie-inspired tables. The LaVernes achieved their detailed designs by acid-etching bronze, adding pewter and enamel, then burying their work to achieve a lustrous patina. This table, called the House of Happiness (Chan #140) is an excellent example the LaVernes' functional art and is signed on its top.
