Refectory Dining Table - 19th Century
-
Description
This French wooden refectory table dates from the 19th century. The chunky top stands on a substantial base which is structurally sound. A rustic design raised on straight legs, united by a central 'H'-shaped refectory stretcher. The straight legs, which are ridged on one side, are simplistic in form and balance the table wonderfully. The two longitudinal sides of the tabletop are decorative hand-carved. The table features a dark patina, grown rich through years of use. Along the top you will see old cracks, minor gouges, and discolouration/lighter areas all adding to its character while revealing the generations of use this table received. Nevertheless, the table is in excellent original condition.
A table full of charm and authenticity, displaying a warm and rich patina throughout. A striking design that would lend itself well to many interiors. This dining table will comfortably seat 6 to 8 people. -
