Description
ROGER CAPRON FRENCH 1970'S CERAMIC TILE COFFEE TABLE MODEL ALOUETTE
Roger Capron French ceramic tile coffee table model alouette. This table is composed of tiles that each exhibit the influence of scrafitto markings, perhaps seen in Morocco and North Africa .
The tiles have a mortif concentric scrafitto square tiles sides. A true architectural and complicated arrangement. The variation in color would work well in any decor. Created in his studio in Vallauris circa 1970. Sitting on dark mahogany framework and legs. Excellent condition. A minimalist plus asymmetrical Capron table.
As Pavilion specializes in the work of artists and designers of France and Italy we love this table for its vibrant and happy quality celebrating the life of the south of France.

Message from Seller:
Pavilion is the collective vision of Deborah Colman and Neil Kraus, both graduates of the master of fine arts program at the Art Institute of Chicago. From a longstanding interest in art and design, frequent buying trips to France and Italy have influenced the direction of the gallery to offer items that are not easily sourced in Chicago and United States. Postwar design has been the focus for 18 yrs and we also look forward to new design that crosses boundaries and dialogues as well to the past
