Description
This mid-century modern console is made with solid Brazilian rosewood (also known as jacaranda) and features a jacaranda veneer. The wood has been refinished, showcasing its beautiful wood veins, and besides the marks of age, the piece is in excellent condition. The console also has four chrome wheels that are original and in great condition. A gorgeous piece like this would be a perfect addition to any styled home.
Sergio Rodrigues was a renowned Brazilian furniture designer who began his career in the 1950s. During this time, Brazilian modern architecture was already well-established, but furniture design was still in its infancy. Rodrigues set out on a mission to create furniture that was both truly Brazilian and modernist in style. Throughout his career, he accomplished this goal by establishing a strong and modern design language that was reflected in all of his work. His designs were known for their purity, simplicity, and functionality, all while staying true to traditional Brazilian influences. Overall, Sergio Rodrigues had a profound impact on the Brazilian furniture industry and helped shape it into what it is today. His legacy lives on through his designs and continues to inspire future generations of furniture makers.
