Description
Limited Edition of 10
The Lahmu Collection is a furniture line inspired by the experience of living in a bunker. It includes sculptural pieces made from contrasting woods, and features monolithic forms and a sense of stillness. The collection was developed as part of the Discovered project and exhibited at the Design Museum in London in September 2021. It is named after Lahmu, a protective deity from Mesopotamian mythology. The collection is a tribute to resilience and strength.
Swedish-Iraqi designer Sizar Alexis experiments with geometrical shapes and raw, natural materials to create objects with a sense of stillness and strong character. He incorporates personal and cultural narratives, as well as inspiration from ancient Mesopotamia's rich cultural and architectural heritage, into his work. Through his material-driven approach and interest in Brutalist aesthetics, Sizar aims to explore his identity within the Chaldean diaspora and the design industry. -
